In 2010 my family and I ventured across the country to the wild wild west from a small town in Nova Scotia. We found ourselves in the big city of Fort McMurray, Alberta. Instead of heading into the oil field like most young men/women, I decided to pursue my passion in the automotive world. As most do starting off, I changed oil and tires at the local Chrysler Dodge Jeep and Ram dealership. With the coming changes in ownership, I too needed a change of scenery. Finding an opening at yet another Chrysler dealer in Fairview Alberta I jumped on the opportunity. Campbell Chrysler in this small town with a big heart is where my career started to take off, by taking on bigger jobs and more responsibilities.
Once completing my apprenticeship, and getting that well-deserved Red Seal, I took my skills to Grande Prairie. Working for Norlan Chrysler is where I hit my stride working mostly on the Diesel side of things. Working and living in GP is were I found the love of my life. A small-town Alberta girl with a love for horses. So much so that she was crowned as a high school rodeo queen for all of Alberta.
Not only that she shared the same passions of mine as she was a parts tech for Honda at the local dealer. We both love being outdoors, camping, fishing, and playing around with power sports. After awhile my heart got pulled to the custom side of automotive life: Lift kits, big wheels and tires, grills, exhaust, you know the stuff.
This part of the story takes me to a small shop you may have heard of called BCM Customs. This family run business in GP should be very proud of what it became. Even making an appearance at the world renowned “Sema show”. I was proud to be a part of that business’s growth for almost 5 years. During that time me and my love had 2 beautiful children.
As much of a blessing as they are, we found ourselves traveling a lot to see grandparents and aunts and uncles in the Red Deer area. The wheels started turning (no pun intended). We packed up our belongings and sold our house in GP. We then took the plunge to start our own business. Together, my brother in-law Marc, my better half Emma and I Tyler, with all of our families’ help and support we have made our dreams come to life here in the beautiful city of Red Deer. With all of your support we hope to keep this flame alive so, Thank you Red Deer for taking my family and I in! Now let’s build some trucks!
